On Friday, February 24, all of Queens Library’s 63 branches opened their doors to the public – but this time, it was different. Staff at several Queens Library locations stood outside the library doors to welcome and usher in patrons, opening up conversations about their background, ambitions, and what the library means to them. At Central, President & CEO Dennis Walcott spoke with new and old customers, and shared a few words about why it’s essential for the Library to take a stand for equity and diversity.
